The Alaska Psychological Association (AKPA) is deeply saddened to learn of the recent indictment of one of our members on charges of Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography. Without commenting on the current charges, as we have no information about them beyond what has been presented by local news outlets, we wish to make the following statement. AKPA universally and unequivocally condemns any action, whether taken by an AKPA member or a member of the public, which violates the rights or general wellbeing of others. We fully support investigations by the appropriate authorities into matters which run contrary to these basic tenets of our profession.
