Seven leaders in Alaska’s behavioral health community were recognized for the outstanding work they are doing in their fields.
The Gold Pan Award was given to Seth Green, PhD for his two years of leadership as AK-PA’s Board President
The Baker-Lane Award was given to Hannah Ekstrom, PsyD for her meritorious service to the association staring in 2016 as the AK-PA Student Rep, Board of Directors Member at large, Early Career Psychologist, and Ethic Committee Chair ending in 2024.
The Baker-Lane Award was also given to Sandra Mitchell, PhD for serving two two-year terms as board treasurer, the first year was when she joined the board in 2019. She termed off but agreed to being appointed to serev an additional 1 year term in 2025
The Distinguished Service Award was given to Hattie Harvey, PhD for her leadership developing the new Master of science in School Psychology program at the University of Alaska Anchorage
The Cultural Humanitarian Award was given to Mary Elkins, LPC for her work developing the PBH Foundation that helps bridge the gap people face in paying their copay or coinsurance for services.
The Cultural Humanitarian Award was also given to Nicole Klingenberg, CDC-S for her commitment to advancing human welfare in our community, particularly Alaska Native People
The Distinguished Rural Provider Award was given to Teri Forst, LPC-S for her work to leand the design, development, and delivery of more than 50 courses to train village-based Behavioral Health Aides statewide to provide quality behavioral health services within their community.
