Karen Ferguson, Ph.D.
Karen
A. Ferguson, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and is the
Director of the federally and state funded Refugee Assistance &
Immigration Services program of Catholic Social Services. As the only
refugee resettlement service in Alaska, this program provides a range of
social service support to refugees resettling throughout the state. Dr.
Ferguson also serves as the Refugee Coordinator for the State of Alaska.
Before this position, for over 6 years, Dr. Ferguson served as the
mental health consultant to the Catholic Social Services Immigration and
Refugee Program providing psychological assessments and mental health
services to immigrant clients and trafficking victims. With a career
that has always been cross-cultural, Dr. Ferguson’s work has ranged from
Uganda, American Samoa and the Eastern Provinces of Canada to work with
Native Americans in Colorado and Alaska. For the past 9 years Alaska has
been home.
