F. Kenneth Freedman, M.A.
F.
Kenneth Freedman, also known as fKen (pronounced ef-‘ken), maintains a
private practice in Anchorage which he began in 1997. He sees
individuals and couples of various orientations, works with depression,
anxiety, and mood disorders as well many other issues. He graduated with
a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College in Arizona
with a focus on Gay, Lesbian, Bi-, and Transgender psychology.
Prior to his work in psychotherapy, he was a
computer systems analyst and ran a thriving computer software
business both in Anchorage and New York City. Prior to computers and
counseling, fKen received a Master’s in Theater from Yale Drama
School, and taught a wide variety of theatre courses at Anchorage
Community College; he wrote the accreditation report for the Drama
Department. He also served as co-chair of Identity, Inc. (a Gay,
Lesbian, Bi-, and Trans-gender community organization). Digging a
little deeper would reveal that he is an announcer for KLEF radio,
worked as a chicken-rock-jock in Asheville, NC (along with a TV news
apprenticeship); and in New York had a theatre career that took him
from off-off-off Broadway to Shakespeare in the Park under the
direction of Joseph Papp.
fKen enjoys working out at the gym as well as
keeping up with an eclectic reading list, and an accounting practice
on the side. fKen also enjoys collecting words, a photography hobby,
and a spiritual support group.
