Ann Stockman, M.S.W., Ph.D.
Dr. Stockman is a licensed psychologist in
private practice in Anchorage, Alaska. Part of her contribution to the
professional community is to provide trainings in a variety of areas
such as clinical supervision, transference, countertransference,
secondary trauma, and working with persons with personality disorders.
She has been both adjunct faculty and a field instructor for the
University of Alaska School of Social Work. At the Colorado Center for
Modern Psychoanalytic Studies (CCMPS) she is training to become an
analyst. Presently she is the student representative from CCMPS to the
National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis. Attachment
theory, social cognitive neuroscience, self psychology, object
relations, and Lacanian theory, influence and inform her practice. She
leads client and consultation groups. She networks with others
interested in groups through the American Group Psychotherapy
Association, the Center for Group Studies in New York, and the online
Group-Psychotherapy listserv, which includes several hundred members
from over 25 nations. A growing part of her practice is connecting with
others at a distance via phone consultation and therapy. She is a member
of the American Mental Health Alliance, which is a non-profit
professional marketing organization dedicated to preserving client
privacy and professional integrity.
