Alaska Licensed Psychologist Jennifer Beathe, PsyD, Receives National Register Award for Excellence in an Early Career Psychologist


July 27, 2011, Washington, DC - - The National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (National Register) Board of Directors today announced the winner of its award for early career psychologists. Jennifer Beathe, PsyD, of Anchorage, AK, was named winner of the 2011 Judy E. Hall, PhD, Early Career Psychologist Award. The award is named for the National Register's current Executive Officer, Judy E. Hall, PhD, and recognizes excellence in a nationally credentialed psychologist with less than ten years of postdoctoral experience.

According to Dr. Hall, "The National Register Board of Directors was equally impressed with Dr. Beathe’s career accomplishments; focus on veteran populations, and proposal to devote the funds associated with the award to providing group counseling sessions for military personnel and veterans in Anchorage, Alaska. The Board was delighted to present this prestigious award to such a deserving early career psychologist."

Dr. Jennifer Beathe is a licensed clinical psychologist and a fellowship trained specialist in the assessment and treatment of PTSD and co-occurring disorders. She recently served as the PTSD and Substance Use Disorder Specialist for the VA Pacific region, implementing evidence based treatment for concurrent PTSD and substance use disorders. Dr. Beathe consults with organizations internationally about strategic trauma response and evidence based treatment modalities for traumatized populations, including emotion regulation skills training interventions and Seeking Safety treatment. Dr. Beathe received her PsyD in clinical psychology in 2005 from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine in 2006.
